Thanks Gilly. It is fun, although I had to overcome my fear of heights to do it. I had a great teacher though. So far I have fallen on the landing, which doesn’t really hurt. Since I had shoulder surgery, I won’t be able to do this again for a while.
Not in those days we didn’t – the Health and Safety explosion was still a glint in someones eye back then! We had ropes for the abseiling. The climbing was just using the hand holds available in the wall. Oh the foolishness of youth 😉
Well, at least you lived to tell about it. Of course, when I was a kid we didn’t have bike helmets, seat belts, sunscreen and such either, and we lived through it too.
Thanks for dropping by my blog! Actually I’m not the only Blogspot-er doing the challenge. There are a few of us sprinkled in – heavily disguised, of course!
Just think it’s rather fun!
(And in answer to your reply above – don’t think I would like it at all! But I’m full of admiration for you!)
Well, glad to have a chance to see your photos. Nice to know that WordPress is getting the challenge out. You can be a WordPresser in Blog spot clothing, at least when you do the photo challenges!
Good one!

Looks a steeper than my stairs 😉 We used to scale a 20ft concrete wall at the back of the Scout hut and practice abseiling down from the roof 🙂
And did you wear a harness and a helmet? At least I had a harness, and cushioned mats at the bottom.

Wow, great entry! I admire your courage Huffygirl.
Thanks Theresa. It felt like a big accomplishment, for such a small wall.

Thanks FT.
Just to give you a real smile… I went on to become a Safety Officer with my Trades Union – talk about poacher turned gamekeeper 😉
Good one Martin. Glad to see you’ve turned from your reckless ways! 😀

Thanks Ann.
I am in awe.
That looks like So Much Fun…but I know my arm strength; I’d be at the bottom of the wall in a nanosecond.
It is fun. You could probaby do it if you worked up to it gradually, and had a good coach like I did.
