Beautiful old stuff; hate the modern one.
Great. That is what I was going for, although I’m sure there are some fans of modern architecture out there, who think the modern building is stunning, including, probably, the home owners.
Do you have any idea why the modern home looks like there’s a cage around it?
To keep the monkeys in I guess
Seriously, I think it was for architectural effect, but it reminds me of those electric heaters that have a cage in front of the heating element to keep from setting the drapes on fire.
It does look like one of those heaters!

Thanks Gilly. That is one of my favorites too. Interestingly, all three of these buildings were fairly close together, which is what gave me the idea to show them in contrast.
I love your photos and was delighted to see Michigan in them because that is where I am from.Just lovely except for the modern one and I get why you used it.

I can’t imagine why anyone would want to live in a state less scenic than Michigan, but well, we can’t ALL live here – that would ruin it
I love it here too but that is all I know.My kids are world travelers but not me.I am a homebody and they tease me about it all the time.I will be back.

Ugly modern house architecture.
I don’t think much of it either. Hopefully the homeowner has not seen this post!
We may not like it, but the owners must love it. Thankfully we are not robots and all like the same things…what a boring world it would be
It is not the kind of place I would want to go “home” to, but it feels that way to those who live in it
